Hello everyone!

It seems like it's a rite of passage for people that are new to introduce themselves here, so I wanted to say hello too. My name is Ijyuin Akira, but I don't mind if you just want to call me Akira. I've never trained any animals before, so I'm not sure I have the hang of everything here yet...

[No, he definitely doesn't. Behind him you can see two Vulpix digging through the backpack new arrivals are provided with, tipping it over to look for sweets and leftover trail mix. He isn't even trying to stop them at this point.]

Ha! Maybe if I perform badly enough, I'll get kicked out of this place and I can go home!

[Although he's laughing, he isn't sure himself whether that's a joke or a sincere wish...]

But in the meantime, if you have any advice for me I'd be very grateful. It would be really nice to finally meet some friendly faces...


[Action for the Team Rocket base in Goldenrod City]

It's been a long couple of days. First, and most heartbreakingly of all, Christmas morning was stolen from him - instead of making breakfast for his mothers and opening presents together, he had found himself waking up alone in a Team Rocket dorm. An organisation, he's since learned in training, founded on stealing animals from their owners. And his own animal companions? They're so badly behaved he's actually been having nightmares about them!

But it's going to be okay. How, he hasn't figured out yet. But it will be.

The first step is picking up all the things his Pokemon have strewn in to the hallway. Tripping over one of these red and white balls rolling around is only going to make the rest of the team even more grumpy.

It really would be nice to have someone to help him put everything away again, but... he can't say he's holding his breath.

Well, what kind of advice are you looking for? I've got three years of experience, so I can probably give a few pointers.

[Granted, he's kind of been a lousy trainer lately, what with his focus on his own fighting skills over battles, but details.]

Time's frozen back home. Nobody even knows we're gone unless they get dragged here with us.

I don't mean to doubt you, but how can you be sure of something like that?

Oh, there's plenty of reasons.

[And better yet, he's experienced them himself.]

First of all, people get dragged here from different points in time. Case in point? My best friend's from more than a year ahead of me, and I've bumped into people from a decade behind us. If our presence here caused problems, don't you think we'd be seeing some wildly different timelines?

Plus, you've got people who slip into comas. Their minds get pulled back to their worlds at the exact moment they left, and they wake up a week later with new memories.

[There's a beat of pause here as he listens to the music in the background, trying to see if it's from New Bark.]

Oh. So you started with two?

Yeah! I think they might be sisters. Or maybe even twins! See?

[He turns the camera to two Vulpix, lazing about in the little nest of clothes and sheets they've made from destroying his room. The music is a little clearer, but he hasn't realised that might be a problem yet.]

[He laughs, waving a hand dismissively.] Oh, no! It's not as bad as all that. I mean, Vulpix-san did bite me once but I'm pretty sure that was an accident...

They just don't seem to want to listen to me, that's all.

Did something happen to cause that? Perhaps it feels uneasy for some reason.

[There's a pause here where Akira makes some gesture, remembering after a second that the other boy can't see it.]

Pet? I assume you mean our Pokemon, so yeah, I do! I have a full team, plus a lot more in my reserves. So I know some things about caring for them.

How do you look after so many at once? You must have to buy tons of pet food every day!

I usually take care of six of them at the same time. Everyone else usually chills inside the PC and can take care of themselves, since you can only carry six of them at once.

[Ahahah...buying things.]

That depends on the Pokemon! You have to know their diet and how much you need to buy, which can factor into your budget. I also spend some time with them, usually by letting one of them outside of their Pokeball whenever I can.

They shrink down pretty small. I think I could carry a few more than six.

How can I find out what different Pokemon eat? Vulpix-san has just been eating what I've been eating - I hope that won't make her sick...
