That was a really mean prank...

[The admonishment comes from a very pale boy, blanket wrapped around his shoulders and over his head like a cocoon. He looks sick, and most longer term residents will recognise the cause as the Halloween goodie bag of berries still sitting in his lap.]

What if one of my Pokemon got poisoned? I know playing tricks on people is a tradition at Halloween, but that's just going too far.

[He shivers, drawing the blanket around himself a little tighter.]

I think I even started hallucinating. Everyone suddenly had magical powers...

Then I'd better tell you something important! You might not know this: A lot of berries here are poisonous to humans, so you shouldn't try to eat them under any circumstances!

[As it turns out, his illness wasn't a Halloween prank at all - just a newbie mistake on his part...]

I didn't know that! I'm glad I didn't try to eat any of the berries I've found while I've been walking around. Thank you!

Oh, but can the Pokemon still eat them? Since you said they're poisonous to humans. If they can make Pokemon sick too, then I wouldn't want Momo to accidentally eat some and get sick!

I think Pokemon are the only ones that can eat them! The lady that told me about it was feeding them to her Pokemon like treats. Did you get a bag with berries in it, too? Maybe you should give Momo-san one to try.

That's what that was! I had no idea there were berries in it! [Natsuki reaches into his pocket where he's kept his Audino's pokeball.] I should have Momo try it right now, so I know if I should keep them or not. I'm still getting used to taking care of Pokemon. They're so different from regular pets.

I know what you mean. [You probably don't, Akira.] My Vulpix-sans are wonderful pets, and I would never trade them away or anything, but I'm not sure I can handle any more pets that can breathe fire.

[As Natsuki produces his Pokeball, Akira leans toward the screen as though that will afford him a better look. He's curious to see what sort of Pokemon Momo will turn out to be.]

[It's okay Akira, the sentiment is appreciated.] Oh, is Vulpix the name of your Pokemon? I don't think I've seen them yet.

[Soon enough Audino gets released from his Pokeball, and he lets out a cheerful "Audinooo!" before Natsuki crouches down and moves his Pokegear so Akira can get a better look at his Pokemon.]

But this is Momo! She's the only Pokemon I have right now-- [And is actually male, but Natsuki pretty much doesn't know that.] But I hope to catch more soon!

Hello, Momo-san! It's nice to meet you!

[The camera moves around so Natsuki can see the Vulpix lazing at the end of his bed.]

This is my Pokemon! I only have the ones I started with, too, for now. But I heard that Pokemon you hatch from eggs will be loyal to you, so that's what I want to try next.

[Audino gives another delighted call of its name, and Natsuki almost ends up too distracted from his adorable Pokemon to notice the Vulpix has shown up, though the fact that it's very familiar does manage to catch his attention eventually.]

Ah, I've seen that one before! I didn't know that's what its name is, but a close friend of mine has one too! And I've heard about the Pokemon eggs as well! I really want one of my own, but I haven't tried getting one yet.

It's easy to find out a Pokemon's name! Every breed I've met so far is named after the noise it makes.

But if that doesn't help, there's also a program on these devices that can identify Pokemon automatically.
